About

Sharon Hsu is a research assistant with the Spatial Ecology, Mapping, and Assessment Program (EcoMap) at the Anderson Cabot Center. She works with the marine mammal survey team as an aerial observer and participates in surveys of the wind energy development areas off Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Her work includes aerial photography, data collection and analysis, as well as photo-identification of North Atlantic right whales.

Her background ranges from marine conservation work with the Peace Corps in Oceania to right whale aerial surveys in Cape Cod. Prior to joining the team, she worked with other aerial teams surveying marine mammals and turtles on both the East coast and West coast.
