About
Rebekah joined the New England Aquarium in 2023 as the Manger of Pinnipeds. Her career working for the aquarium is driven by combining her passions for behavioral husbandry and building connections between conservation messaging and the animals in our care. Early in her career, she pursued a variety of opportunities working with species like sharks, rays, sea turtles, and marine mammals to develop a well -rounded skill set in animal husbandry. Rebekah continued to advance her expertise in marine mammal care by training cetaceans and pinnipeds for the Navy Marine Mammal Program, then further specializing in cetaceans at the National Aquarium. At the New England Aquarium, Rebekah leads the Pinniped team with a proactive and dynamic approach to our behavioral husbandry program to provide our animals with the highest level of care. She guides the team with an expertise in operant conditioning, enrichment, animal behavior, and welfare. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Animal Welfare Committee and member of the Training and Enrichment Committee.
