About
David Lockwood is an Assistant Research Scientist with the Right Whale Research Program, where he focuses on data ingestion, photo-identification, and behavioral analysis for the North Atlantic Right Whale Catalog. He also manages real time monitoring efforts, tracking anthropogenic impacts on the population. Before joining the team at the Anderson Cabot Center, David gained experience in data collection as a NMFS Fisheries Observer and as a protected species observer. Most recently, he spent several seasons as a right whale aerial observer in the Southeastern U.S. and as a naturalist for the New England Aquarium Whale Watch in Boston.
