About
Ryan Lowndes is an assistant research scientist with the Fisheries Science and Emerging Technologies (FSET) Program at the Anderson Cabot Center. His current focus is the FSET team’s long-term study assessing the influence of wind farm construction and operation on the movement ecology of pelagic fishes, including sharks and tuna.
Prior to coming to the FSET team, Ryan completed his master’s in coastal marine and wetland studies at Coastal Carolina University, where he tested experimental electromagnetic hooks in an effort to reduce bycatch of sharks in commercial and recreational fisheries.
