About

Nina received her Bachelor’s in Wildlife Management and Conservation from Humboldt State University in 2011 followed by her Associate’s in Veterinary Technology from Cedar Valley College in 2015 and her Master’s in Nonprofit Management from University of Houston in 2021. While working toward her Associate’s, she interned at the Dallas Zoo and worked at a 24 hour emergency small animal clinic in Dallas. From 2016 – 2022, she was the Rehabilitation Manager at a sea turtle rescue facility in south Texas. She joined the Animal Health Department team in 2022 as the Aquarium Medical Center Manager where she oversees the daily operation of the medical center, assists in managing personnel, and performs senior biologist duties by providing medical care to the aquarium’s diverse collection.

Nina is passionate about wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. She serves as a board member for an environmental conservation nonprofit in Belize, has been a co-author on several sea turtle publications and has attended and presented at several conferences across the U.S.
